The Art of Procrastination: College Freshmen Edition

Procrastination is something I am unfortunately good at and now that I live on a college campus, having to actually motivate myself to get things done is somewhat of a struggle. There are many ways to procrastinate and I shall share all that I know (or at least my favorites).

1. YouTube. I no longer have cable, because the dorm life, so I watch a whole lot of YouTube. It can get pretty bad though. For example, yesterday I was procrastinating and thought I'd watch some videos well I spent over an hour and it felt like maybe ten minutes.

2. BuzzFeed. I really love BuzzFeed. These people are hysterical. The above mentioned hour of YouTubing was really watching BuzzFeed on YouTube...

3. Coloring! Coloring is the best I have two packs of markers, a big box or coloring pencils, a large variety of crayons (all Crayola of course), and lots of paper so I color a lot. It also doubles as a stress reliever.

4. Productive Procrastination. This is when you put off doing the homework you don't want to do by doing other homework that is either not as important or not as undesirable.

5. FOOD. I love food and I keep lots of snack foods in my dorm. So sometimes I tell myself I'm hungry and therefore must get a snack and watch YouTube (because that's what I do when I eat in my room. It's bad I know but oh well) and then proceed to waste like half an hour at least.

6. Naptime! Sometimes I tell myself I can't do homework because I'm too tired and must take a nap (which is at least an hour long).

7. Pinterest! I spend soo much time on Pinterest and I regret nothing. It's one of my happy places.

And now I have shared my procrastinating wisdom on you (assuming anyone bothers to read this:)
Happy Procrastinating!

Book Recommendations

Here is a list of books that I highly recommend and I will update the list whenever I read another amazing book. (Note: Most of these will be young adult novels because I am a young adult)

The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling- No book recommendation list is complete without these amazing books.

The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins- They're very interesting, entertaining, and have a very realistic ending that made me happy even though almost everyone else either thinks it's really sad or a happy ending (which it's not).

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare- Even though the main protagonist is a bit of a pansycake the other characters kick butt and are really cool and you get most of the books from like five different p.o.v's which is amazing.

The Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth- I love these books more than I love a lot of my friends I don't care is you can count the characters who live faster than those who die these books are phenomenal and there is never a dull moment. Also, if you don't think a character can be killed because they are more important to the series than I can say without putting a spoiler alert on here...you're very wrong. Plus the last book, Allegiant, is in dual p.o.v which is really cool but also kind of weird at first.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky- It's kind of a strange book and it's really short but it's also really good.

The Princess Academy by Shannon Hale- It's really interesting book and I liked it a lot. I tried to read it when I was like ten, but that didn't work well, however, I read it all the way through when I was fifteen and really enjoyed it.

The Goose Girl (also by Shannon Hale)- It's kind of super weird at times but overall it's pretty great book, there's princesses, mean people, backstabbing, geese, ya know everything you need in a great book. (It is pretty great I promise).

How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas C. Foster- I had to read this book for my AP Lit class my junior year of high school but I really loved it and pretty much all of the "How to Read...Like a Professor" books are on my to be read list. Reading this book was like sitting in a college lit class lecture with the coolest professor ever.

Listen by Stephanie S. Tolan- This was one of my favorite books in middle school, it's about this girl who lives in the middle of nowhere and tries to train this wild dog to be her pet and stuff happens and it's really good.

Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell- I had to read this in fifth grade and I really liked it and it was one of my favorite books in elementary school and middle school and I still really like it even though it's been like three years since I last read it.

Tennyson by Lesley M. M. Blume- I really liked this book, even though the ending made me really mad, I definitely suggest reading it.

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers- This is one of two Christian romance novels that I have ever read in my life but it was really good and needs to be read by more people; it's actually every uplifting even though half the book made me cry.

The Scarlet Thread (also by Francine Rivers)- I loved this book but the ending ticked me off more than any book ending ever has, but I still like it. (it is the other Christian romance novel that I've ever read in my life and liked).

The Dear Dumb Diary books by - These are great for readers around the ages of like 10-12 I absolutely loved these books when I was younger; they are hysterical.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green- This book is amazing and uplifting and funny at the same time and just really great. John Green is just made of awesome. (I hope someone gets that reference)

The Wolf Princess by Cathryn Constable- This book is really pretty awesome and takes place in Russia and I really like it a lot and have been searching to find a sequel but have been unsuccessful and that makes me sad because there could totally be a sequel.

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater- This book is really cool and like the Mortal Instruments is in multiple p.o.v (well it alternates between like four characters' p.o.v) and I'm like dying to get the second book which I hope to do very soon.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell- This book is wonderful and nothing super crazy happens but it's wonderful! It's something most fangirls can definitely relate to in some way.

(sorry this is one is kinda hard to read even if you click on it so here is what it says:)
Tris: You threw a knife at my head
Tobias: Oh please, at least your not dead
Tris: Well now my ear is all red
Tobias: And now you're in my way

Tris: I'll trade my robes for a kiss
Tobias: bullets and knives for you, Tris
Tris: I wasn't looking for this, but now you're in my way

Tris: your knife was throwing
black clothes-tattoos are showing
Four: Hot night Ferris wheels were going
Where you think we're going, baby?

Hey I just met you. And this is crazy.
But we're all dauntless. So kiss me maybe.
And all the other initiates . Want to kill me.
But we're all dauntless so kiss me maybe
